Make your eyes pop with some handy makeup hacks.
Ok, so you’ve discovered Cali Lash, tick!
By way of knowing about Cali, your eyelashes are already looking better than ever.
But, if you’re anything like us, you’ll do everything you can to make those batting butterflies bold and even more beautiful.
That’s why we’ve come up with a few simple makeup hacks that will do just that!
Defining your eyes
Depending on how much time you have up your sleeve, defining your eyes can be as quick as applying black eyeliner to your upper water line.
To take it one step further, smudge the liner onto your lash line too for something more dramatic.
A black pencil or crayon eyeliner is your best friend here, and with a few careful moves, you can adapt the look, from day, to night. The more you smudge, the smokier and sultrier your eyes will appear.
On the opposite side of the spectrum, choosing a white or nude eyeliner can create a brighter, more open looking eye, and is our choice for daytime.
Choosing a lighter colour in the water line will contrast against your Cali lashes, making them well and truly pop!
The winged look
The cat-eye effect has been on trend since the days of Cleopatra.
In saying this, it can take a long time to get it right—all praise to makeup wipes!
The benefit of having a winged eyeliner, is that it makes your eyes instantly look bigger, while adding depth and thickness to your lashes.
In the words of Rihanna, “Shine bright like a diamond.”
Let your eyes do the talking by adding highlighter to in the inner corners.
This makes your eyes seem lighter, and bigger—as though you’ve had eight hours sleep the night before, when you definitely haven’t.
Did someone say ‘instant eyelift’?
Yes! You read that correctly.
And we aren’t referring to the type that makes you feel frozen. We’re talking, the natural kind.
Achieve this look by applying highlighter under the eyebrow on the brow bone.
If this is too sparkly for you, you can use a light pink pencil and draw a line directly under the inner corner of your brow to the outer corner. This will create an illusion of a brow lift, which makes your eyes stand out.
Busy lifestyle? Dark circles. Too many margaritas? Puffy eyes.
We get it, five margaritas is always worth it at the time. As is bingeing a series on Netflix and compromising those hours of sleep.
The bags, however, are not.
Thanks to good concealer you can hide your late-night habits.
We recommend using a lighter concealer as this contours your cheekbones and makes your eyes much brighter!
