A love hate relationship.

A love hate relationship.

‏‏‎When it comes to eyelash extensions, I’m at a crossroads as to whether I love them, or hate them. Fresh from the salon, I feel confident and beautiful, but then a week or so in, and I wonder if it’s more trouble than it’s worth.

The desire for long lashes is something we’re more than familiar with. But the biggest conundrum is whether we choose eyelash extensions, glue-on, or magnetic eyelashes. If you’re debating which route, #Calilash is here to help!

The highs of having eyelash extensions

Eyelash extensions are renowned for the fact they make your makeup routine quicker (which we love). I have noticed this myself, when it takes me five minutes to do my makeup, instead of 20. Those 15 minutes may not seem like much, but in that time, I can fit in a little workout, get a coffee without being late to my morning meeting, and just generally, get my day started faster.

I love the idea of not wearing lots of makeup, and personally I find that you can wear less with eyelashes. Even if you have no makeup on, you just feel great having eyelash extensions.

And the lows…

Unfortunately, there is a lot of maintenance required for eyelash extensions. It is suggested that you see an eyelash technician every 2-3 weeks. The longer you wait, the fewer lashes you have, which in-turn results in longer appointments to refill them.

It can be hard to find a time to book your appointment too. We all know the feeling of having an important event scheduled at the back end of your lash cycle, and the rush to get in to see your technician on time. It creates anxiety, and it’s just not worth it.

And while it’s easy to fall in love with your extensions, the habit can feel addictive. From our first hit, the obsessive cycle begins…

The highs of wearing glue-on or magnetic lashes

If you want to decide when and where you wear false eyelashes, magnetic and glue-on lashes are very convenient.

You’re in charge of when you want a full glam look and if you aren’t vibing them anymore, you can always take them off #byefelicia.

A MAJOR benefit of wearing glue and magnetic lashes is that you can keep your eyelash care routine up to date. This is achievable by using natural products on natural lashes and brushing them to make them healthy and strong. Long story short, glue on and magnetic lashes are much better for your natural lashes in the long term.

The lows...

Applying glue on and magnetic eyelashes can be a little tricky at first, but with a little practice, you’ll be up to speed in no time.  In fact, the more you use them, the better you get! And we all have to start somewhere...

Care for those lashes because they make us feel beautiful!

Just remember that your lashes are fragile, so don’t neglect them. If you do decide to get eyelash extensions, remember to have breaks to build their strength again.

For those that choose glue and magnetic eyelashes, remember to adopt a lash care routine everyday. This will create thick and long lashes, because you’re giving them all the #TLC they deserve.

Now, which will you choose?
